Wilson does it all offensively in win over Cards

Barrie, Ontario -- Jake Wilson did a bit of it all Thursday at Coates Stadium. 

The Barrie Baycats' centre-fielder and leadoff hitter went 3-for-5 with a single and inside-the-park home run in an 8-3 win over Hamilton. He drove in two and scored twice. Tyler Plumpton had two RBI, while Marcell Lacasse had two hits and an RBI, and Mike Cecchetto and Noel McGarry-Doyle each drove in a run and combined to score three times. 

Juan Benetiz (1-0) allowed three runs on seven hits in 5.2 innings for the win. He walked three and struck out six as Barrie improved to 1-1.

Ben Braun (1-1) lasted four innings for the Cardinals, giving up seven runs (two earned) on nine hits with a walk and four strikeouts. 

Cal Brazier went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs to lead the Cards. Nathan Scragg had the other RBI.
