TORONTO – Austin Wilkie hit two of London’s five home runs and drove in five as the Majors topped the Toronto Maple Leafs 14-8 Sunday afternoon at Christie Pits.

Wilkie also singled twice as the Majors had nine total hits. Cleveland Brownlee tied Justin Gideon with his 11th home run, a two-run shot in the second inning, while Gibson Krzeminski hit a three-run shot and Phil Whelan added a solo shot and drove in two. Starling Joseph went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs.

Jose Arias (7-0) earned the win, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits over six innings. He walked six and struck out seven.

Franklin Hernandez (1-1) took the loss. The starter’s defence let him down, as only one of eight runs allowed was earned. He scattered four hits, walked three and fanned four.

Offensively, Aidan McAskie hit a grand slam in the eighth. Jose Vinicio went 3-for-6 with an RBI and a run and Dan Marra added a pair of hits.

London improved to 19-8, and Toronto fell to 16-12.
