We officially hit the halfway point of the regular season with some surges and tumbles rounding out the week that was in the Intercounty Baseball League

(Last week’s ranking in parentheses)

 1. Welland Jackfish (2)

Record: 17-6 | Streak: W3

All systems go in the Rose City. A dominant week vaults the Jackfish to the top, boasting a +110 run differential and the league’s best winning percentage.

 2. Barrie Baycats (4)

Record: 13-10 | Streak: L1

The defending champs are surging, winning 5 of their last 6. Even with injuries, Barrie continues to find ways to win with gritty, balanced baseball.

3. Chatham-Kent Barnstormers (1)

Record: 14-9 | Streak: L1

Tough losses at home and on the road in Welland drop the Barnstormers slightly. Seth Strong’s return is timely, but they still need another starter to stay in the title race.

4. London Majors (3)

Record: 14-10 | Streak: L2

A two-game slide highlights the Majors’ biggest need: bullpen support and a reliable arm to solidify the rotation.

 5. Guelph Royals (5)

Record: 11-13 | Streak: W2

Still hanging around mid-table. They’ve had decent outings, but lineup depth and consistency remain concerns in Guelph.

 6. Toronto Maple Leafs (9)

Record: 12-13 | Streak: W1

A much-needed win pushes the Leafs up. But this hurting bunch needs to get healthy—fast—before the playoff race pulls away.

 7. Brantford Red Sox (8)

Record: 6-18 | Streak: L1

Brantford’s recent flashes of fight were dimmed by a home loss to Welland. Still, the Sox continue to hang tough through a challenging schedule.

 8. Hamilton Cardinals (6)

Record: 10-12 | Streak: W1

Saturday night was a low point.   The Cardinals responded on Sunday in a must-win vs London—was it a turning point?

 9. Kitchener Panthers (7)

Record: 9-15 | Streak: L1

Too many blown leads. Another wasted quality start underlines the bullpen’s struggles. They must finish games to stay relevant.
