Versatile Vanderby returns for 4th season
HAMILTON - The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the return of infielder David Vanderby.
David returns for his 4th full season with the Cardinals after reaching a career high last season in hits with 18. David has a career average of .214 (44-206). The local native played college ball with Jamestown Community College before settling with the Cardinals.
"David brings a great attitude, solid defense and works deep into counts to make pitchers work to get him out. His on base percentage is better than his average, and he also plays multiple positions to give Coach Castelli options later in games. Every successful team needs players like Vanderby" stated GM Jeff Lounsbury
"From the past years I have played in Hamilton, 2019 is the most eager I have been to get back on the field. The Cardinals are no longer considered a "bottom of the barrel" team which is evident in the organizations success and culture that was created last year. Come around August, we will look forward to contending for a championship. It's a great time to be a Hamilton Cardinal" said Vanderby
The Hamilton Cardinals are members of Ontario's most elite baseball league. The Intercounty Baseball League. The 101 year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, established in 1919.
