Veilleux, Bateman carry Red Sox

BRANTFORD – Jeremie Veilleux and Lucas Bateman each had two hits and two RBI in Brantford’s 6-3 win over Hamilton on Saturday at Arnold Anderson Stadium.

Evan Ryan drove in a run and Roger Keen singled twice.

Jeremias Sucre (3-1) struck out six over six innings for the win. He was tagged with three runs (two earned) on six hits with a pair of walks and three strikeouts. Noah Law pitched a perfect ninth for his first save of 2024.

Brantford improved to 4-8.

Dennis Dei Baning, Keelor Loveridge and Brendon Daley drove in the runs for Hamilton (6-7). Connor Hicks singled and doubled.

Colby Ring (0-1) was stuck with the loss after giving up four runs on three hits with a walk in the first inning.
