Toronto signs infielder Cole Murchison

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club (@iblmapleleafs) announced today the signing of corner infielder Cole Murchison.

Murchison who is from Stouffville Ontario will be making his IBL debut in 2024. Cole is currently in his Junior year at CSU Monterey Bay (NCAA.D.2) and is hitting .375 (39-104) with 5 2B’s, 3 HR’s and 21 RBI’s. Murchison transferred to CSU after spending two years at West Valley College. Prior to going to school he played for Coach Butler for the Ontario Prospects U18 team.

“It’s important that we identify young talent and we feel Cole will fit right in and give us another quality bat while learning from out veteran team. It’s a good opportunity for him. It is also great that he has a history with Coach Butler and I see him as part of our long term plans.” GM Jeff Lounsbury

“I couldn’t be more excited to back playing for Toronto. Where I was born and grew up. I can’t wait to play under my life long coach Rob Butler, who is the reason I am able to play this game at a high level.” Cole Murchison
