Sloan fans nine to lead Leafs over Baycats

TORONTO – Zach Sloan struck out nine over five scoreless innings to lead the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 4-0 win over Barrie Wednesday night at Christie Pits.

Sloan scattered four hits and walked two as he improved to 2-1.

Offensively, Aidan McAskie and Dan Marra both drilled solo home runs, while Justin Marra and Greg Carrington each doubled home a run. Jose Vinicio went 2-for-4 and scored.

Baycats starter Adam Kahn took the loss, allowing a run on three hits over three innings. He walked two and fanned four.

Noel McGarry-Doyle went 3-for-5 and Tyler Plumpton was 3-for-4.
