Six-run ninth jumpstarts Jackfish past Majors

London, ON -- Six ninth-inning runs jumpstarted the Welland Jackfish to a come-from-behind 10-6 win Friday night at Labatt Park in London.

Trailing by two and down to its last three outs, Welland took advantage of five Majors' walks and two errors to pull ahead. Dane Tofteland had the Jackfish's lone hit in the inning, a two-run single that put Welland ahead for good. 

Griffin Keller homered and drove in two, Cole Warken and Brendon Dadson each had two hits and an RBI and combined to score three times, Ethan Pusco drove in a run and scored twice, and Matt Hilderbrandt added an RBI. 

Will Jackman (1-1) picked up the win in relief. He gave up an unearned run on a hit with a strikeout in one inning. Jake Polancic started and went five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits with four walks and five strikeouts. 

Welland improved to 4-7. 

For London (7-3), Hayden Jaco went 3-for-4 with two runs, Carlos Arteaga drove in a pair, Chris McQueen scored twice, Humberto Ruiz singled twice and added an RBI and a run, Cleveland Brownlee had an RBI, and Adam Filmon singled twice. 

Mike DeLong (0-1) didn't record an out in the ninth to take the loss, allowing six runs (four earned) on one hit with three walks. Starter Braeden Ferrington gave up three runs (one earned) on eight hits in 5.2 innings. He walked two and struck out three.
