Seven-run sixth sends Baycats past Red Sox

BRANTFORD – A seven-run sixth inning capped the Barrie Baycats' comeback in a 10-6 win over the Brantford Red Sox in Game 3 of their best-of-seven quarter-final Sunday night at Arnold Anderson Stadium.

Barrie leads 3-0 and can clinch the series Tuesday.

Kyle DeGrace swatted a grand slam in the decisive inning. Jordan Castaldo had a two-run single in the sixth and added a two-run home run in the fifth when the Baycats trailed 4-0. Starlin Rodriguez drove in a run and scored twice, Jeff Cowan had an RBI and a run, and Kevin Atkinson went 3-for-4 with a run. 

Barrie flashed its speed with six stolen bases. 

Adrian Salcedo (1-0) went six innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on nine hits with a walk and seven strikeouts. 

Jesse Fishbaum (0-1) took the loss, giving up seven runs (two earned) on eight hits in 5.2 innings. He walked seven and struck out one. 

Offensively, Chris Iltshishin went 4-for-5 with two RBI, a run and a stolen base. Nic Burdett had two hits, an RBI and a run, Austin Wilkie singled three times and scored twice, Doug Parks had an RBI and a run, and Jacob Reid singled, doubled and had an RBI.
