  • Leafs jumped all over Majors starter Abdiel Velasquez in the second inning, when Greg Carrington singled to score Jesse Hodges, Yoichi Ishihara’s double scored Johnathan Solazzo, and Jose Vinicio’s triple brought in Ishihara and Carrington.
  • After the Majors got back into the game, scoring twice in the sixth inning, the Maple Leafs responded with two of their own in the top half of the seventh. In the ninth, Justin Marra put an exclamation mark on the game with his three-run home run.
  • Eduardo de Oleo had the big highlight of the game for the Majors when he hit a solo homer in the sixth inning. Kayne McGee had an RBI single in that same inning.
  • On the mound, Maple leafs starter Ryan Burnside kept the high-powered Majors offence at bay, striking out six, giving up five hits in six innings of work.
  • Despite the shaky second inning, Abdiel Velasquez struck out seven batters, giving up four hits in just over three innings of work.
