Ryan’s gem leads Barnstormers in Guelph

GUELPH – Aden Ryan tossed seven shutout innings, and Chatham-Kent’s offence did its part in a 5-1 win on Tuesday night in Guelph.  

Ryan (3-1) scattered four hits and fanned five without issuing a walk.  

At the plate, Evan Morrison went 2-for-3 with a solo home run to lead off the game. Braxton Haggith had three hits, Spencer Marcus singled twice and scored, and Seth Strong doubled home a run as the second-place Barnstormers moved to 15-9.  

For Guelph (11-14), Marc Nellis scored the lone run on a wild pitch in the ninth inning after drawing a leadoff walk.  

Jordan Taylor (0-1) took the loss on the mound after allowing two runs on seven hits over five innings. He walked four and struck out two.
