Royals win third straight

GUELPH – The Guelph Royals won their third straight and improved to 8-2 in their last 10 with a 5-1 win over Barrie Tuesday night at David E. Hastings Stadium.


Conner Morro went 3-for-4 with a solo home run for the third-place Royals (25-11). Claudio Custodio also had three hits and an RBI, while Noah Roberts drove in the other run.


Jeifry Nunez (1-0) fanned six over five shutout innings for the win. He gave up a hit and walked one.


Jake Wilson’s RBI single in the sixth accounted for the Baycats’ scoring. Ryan Rijo doubled. 


Adam Khan (3-4) took the loss, giving up three runs on five hits over four innings. He walked two and struck out five.

Barrie fell to 20-18.
