Royals win fourth straight
HAMILTON – Guelph’s winning streak hit four games after a 9-3 victory Sunday in Hamilton.
Nathaniel Bell tripled twice and drove in four for the Royals (4-2). Garrett Takamatsu drove in two, J.D. Williams had two hits and an RBI, Carson Burns and Ashton Patterson each drove in a run, and Andy Leader had two hits.
Brandon Deans (1-0) earned the win in relief after allowing two runs on six hits in 2.2 innings. He walked one and struck out three. Jordan Taylor started and went three innings, giving up a run on one hit with two walks and three strikeouts.
Ramon Henriquez (0-2) took the loss after giving up four runs on two hits in 1.1 innings of relief. He walked four and fanned five.
Tyler Duncan drove in a run and swiped two bags for the Cardinals (3-2). Niko Kekatos and Tommy Reyes-Cruz each had an RBI, and Jaden Brown went 3-for-5 with a run.
