Royals take down Leafs

GUELPH – Andy Leader went 3-for-4 and hit his first home run of the season in Guelph’s 5-1 win over Toronto on Saturday at David E. Hastings Stadium.

Leader also singled twice and drove in two as Guelph improved to 13-10. Garrett Takamatsu had two RBI, while Ethan Hammond added a pair of singles.

Royals’ starter Jacob Kush (3-1) went seven innings and allowed a run on two hits with seven walks and seven strikeouts.

Dan Marra had an RBI for the Leafs (7-19), who have lost four straight. Johnathan Solazzo doubled and scored.

Angel Castro (1-4) was pulled with one out in the fourth inning and was charged with five runs on six hits with three walks and six strikeouts.
