Royals Stocking Up on Veteran Arms

GUELPH - The Guelph Royals announced the signing of two veteran pitchers Santos Arias and Emilis Guerrero on Friday as their roster continues to take shape in preparations for their return to play following a lengthy two-year absence due to Covid restrictions.

Guerrero who pitched in the IBL with the Barrie Baycats from 2016 to 2019 had an overall record of 38-7  in the regular season with a 2.69 ERA, tallying  371 strikeouts over 368.2 innings pitched while issuing just 44 walks.

Arias posted a 5-2 record in 2019 with the Baycats finishing with  59 strikeouts and 18 walks in 66 innings pitched.

The Royals will make their return to the Intercounty on Saturday, May 21st when they play host to the Toronto Maple Leafs at David E. Hastings Stadium. Game time is slated for 1 pm

Season Tickets, as well as Single Game Tickets, will go on sale on March 1st.
