Royals outslug Leafs

TORONTO – Guelph’s winning streak hit three games with an 11-9 win in Toronto on Friday night.  

Brando Leroux went 4-for-6 with a home run and three RBI for the Royals (14-18), who have scored 30 runs during their streak. Liam Wilson had three hits including a home run, and drove in three, and Matthew Ward homered and finished a triple short of the cycle while driving in two.  

Garrett Takamatsu went 3-for-5 with two RBI, Marc Nellis had two hits and an RBI, and Franklin Torres went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs.  

Edgar Garcia (2-2) picked up the win on the mound, allowing five runs on seven hits over five innings. He walked four and struck out three.  

Jordan Castaldo had two home runs and five RBI for the Leafs (13-19). Dan Marra drove in two on a pair of hits, Justin Marra singled twice and had an RBI, Benjamin Sitarenios drove in a run, Jhon Javier had two hits and scored three times, Luca Boscarino went 2-for-5, and Spenser Ross scored twice.  

Adam Jafine (1-4) was touched for six runs on eight hits in three innings to take the loss. He struck out one.
