Royals double Baycats

GUELPH – Guelph moved to within a game of second-place Barrie after an 8-4 win over the Baycats on Sunday at home.

Marc Nellis, Connor Morro, Ethan Hammond and Jaozef Del Rosario drove in two runs apiece for the Royals (12-7). David Stanley went 3-for-5 with two runs.

Jacob Kush (2-1) earned the win, giving up two runs on six hits over six innings. He walked three and fanned eight. Brandon Deans struck out four over the last two innings for the save.

Nolan Machibroda had two RBI for the Baycats (13-8). Hayden Jaco drove in the other run.

Cesar Rosado (4-1) took the loss, allowing four runs on six hits over four innings. He walked seven and struck out seven.
