Royals' Custodio fans 15 in complete-game shutout

LONDON – Guelph right-hander Claudio Custodio struck out 15 in a complete-game shutout as the Royals blanked London 2-0 Friday night at Labatt Park.

Custodio scattered three hits and didn’t issue a walk as he moved to 11-0. Guelph (29-11) now sits a half-game behind London (30-11) for first place and has a game in hand.

Offensively, Kyle DeGrace drove in one of two runs. Darius Barlas and Ashton Patterson scored.

For London, Keith Kandel went 2-for-3 with a double.

Jose Arias took the loss, giving up both runs (one earned) over eight innings. He scattered four hits with three walks and 11 strikeouts.
