Royals back in win column

GUELPH – The Guelph Royals bounced back from a loss in London Friday night to beat the Brantford Red Sox 9-5 Saturday afternoon at David E. Hastings Stadium.
Angel Villalona had four of Guelph's 13 hits, driving in three. Riley Perks went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and scored three times, Ethan Hammond singled twice and had two RBI and a run, Kyle Kush drove in a run and scored, Jeff MacLeod doubled twice and had an RBI and a run, Sean Reilly added two hits and a run, and Drew Huerter singled, scored and drove in a run.
Guelph improved to 6-6.
Brett Lawson picked up the win in relief and benefitted from four Royals runs in the eighth inning. Lawson (2-1) registered the last six outs and gave up one hit while walking one and striking out three. Yunior Yambatis started and went seven innings and allowed five runs (two earned) on three hits with three walks and five strikeouts.
Nic Burdett hit a three-run blast for the Red Sox (1-8). Chris Iltshishin went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Victor Mueses (0-3) took the loss, giving up four runs on four hits in two innings. He walked two and struck out two. Starter Eddison Fries yielded four earned runs on nine hits over six innings. He struck out nine and walked one.
