Royals Announce New Field Manager
GUELPH - The Guelph Royals are excited to announce that Dino Roumel joins the team as Field Manager for the 2020 season. He replaces Dave teBoekhorst who managed the team for the previous two seasons.
Dino Roumel is no stranger to the Guelph Royals or the Intercounty Baseball League. Dino managed the Royals from 1992-1995 and was recognized as IBL Manager of the Year in 1993 and 1994. He won a championship as the Royals’ Manager in 1993 and again as General Manager in 1997. He also won IBL titles in coaching roles with the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Brantford Red Sox. Outside of the IBL, Dino has extensive coaching experience with the Ontario Blue Jays 17U team.
“We are thrilled to have Dino return to the Guelph Royals” said team owner, Shawn Fuller. “We think he’s the right person to attract, retain and manage the top level talent we need as we pursue our 10th IBL championship.”
“For me, it’s like coming home. I’m excited to get back to the diamond and pack the park like we used to” said Dino.
The Guelph Royals will kick off the 102nd year of the Intercounty Baseball League this May at Hastings Stadium. Ticket packages for the 2020 season are available online at www.guelphroyals.com
