Rijo leads Baycats past Panthers

BARRIE – Ryan Rijo went 4-for-6 with two home runs and five RBI in the Barrie Baycats’ 20-1 win Saturday night over Kitchener.

Jake Wilson homered and drove in three, Malik Williams went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and three runs, Noel McGarry-Doyle had two hits, an RBI and a run, Owen Jansen went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs, Brendan Colley drove in two and scored twice, James Anderson went 3-for-6 with a run, Juan Familia had two hits, an RBI and scored three times and Branfy Infante drove in a run.

Juan Benitez picked up the win, allowing a run on five hits with a walk and three strikeouts.

Brett Reid took the loss, giving up 14 runs (10 earned) on 14 hits over four innings. He walked three and struck out one.

Liam Wilson drove in the lone Panthers’ run with a double to score Dan Mahoney in the third inning. Jett Jarvis went 2-for-4.

Barrie improved to 15-9, and Kitchener dropped to 8-15.
