Red Sox pick up first win

KITCHENER – After three losses to start the season, the Brantford Red Sox picked up its first win Sunday in Kitchener.

Gus Wilson went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in the 13-6 victory. Vaibhav Desai drilled a two-run home run. Jordan Lewis was busy at the top of the lineup, singling three times, scoring four runs and stealing four bases. Jeremie Veilleux went 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Nick Burdett and Lucas Bateman each drove in a run.

Jeremias Sucre (1-0) picked up the win on the mound, allowing four runs on six hits over five innings. He walked two and struck out two.

For Kitchener (1-4), Ryan Burnside singled, doubled and drove in two. Jett Jarvis went 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs, and Yunior Ibarra and Nolan Misa both drove in a run.

Dakota Parsons (0-1) went three innings in the loss. He gave up five runs (four earned) on three hits with five walks and four strikeouts.
