Red Sox hammer Baycats
BRANTFORD – Brantford scored a season high in runs with a 15-0 win Friday night over Barrie at Arnold Anderson Stadium.
Christian Ortega went 2-for-5 with a three-run blast as Brantford (9-28) picked up its third win in four games. It was also the team’s biggest margin of victory this season, surpassing a 12-1 win over Kitchener in June.
Graham Tebbit, Kevin Delvecchio and Lucas Bateman each drove in two, Andrew Savage and Brody Black both went 3-for-4 with an RBI, Rene Tachioka and Cassidy Watt both drove in a run, and Ethan Paulos scored twice.
Red Sox starting pitcher Connor Irvine (3-4) was dominant, striking out nine over seven scoreless innings. He scattered four hits and didn’t issue a walk.
Clayton Keyes had two of Barrie’s six hits.
Johnathan Warden (0-2) took the loss after yielding five runs on three hits in two innings. He walked five and struck out one.
