BRANTFORD -- Gianfranco Morello's single in the bottom of the 11th scored Jon Dziomba for the winning run as the Brantford Red Sox defeated the Barrie Baycats 7-6 Friday night at Arnold Anderson Stadium.

Brantford took a 4-0 lead in the first, but Barrie roared back to tie it in the third. Each team scored twice in the 10th, setting the stage for Morello's magic.

Pineda (2-0) also earned the win on the mound. He gave up an earned run on one hit in three innings of relief, walking two and striking out four. Brantford starter Mackenzie Major gave up four runs (three earned) on seven hits, striking out three.

Barrie starter Brad Grieveson went seven innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on seven hits. He walked one and struck out six. Brandon Hillier (0-2) took the loss, though none of the three runs he allowed two hits in an inning of relief were earned as the Baycats committed eight errors.

At the plate, Jake MacDonald and Mike Duwyn each had two hits, an RBI and a run. Avery Tuck, Marcel Lacasse and David LeBlanc all drove in a run.

Barrie fell to 10-12.
