Panthers snap losing skid
TORONTO – Kitchener snapped a five-game losing streak with an 11-2 win on Wednesday night in Toronto.
AJ Karosas went 2-for-5 with a pair of two-run singles as Kitchener improved to 10-19. Yunior Ibarra and Nicolas KyRose each had two hits and an RBI, Yosvani Penalver drove in a run, and Charlie Towers and Yordan Manduley combined for three hits and six runs.
Yadian Martinez (5-6) tossed six innings on the mound for the win. He allowed two runs on four hits with five walks and three punchouts.
Leafs’ starting pitcher Luis Florentino (1-1) took the loss after yielding six runs (five earned) in 3.2 innings. He scattered six hits, walked four and struck out six.
Offensively, Dennis Dei Baning had three of Toronto’s five hits. Dei Baning and Chad Picton drove in the Leafs’ runs.
Toronto fell to 12-16.
