Panthers roar back to beat Red Sox

BRANTFORD – Kitchener scored seven straight runs to pull away from Brantford in a 7-1 victory Friday night at Arnold Anderson Stadium.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning on Nick Burdett’s two-out RBI single, the Panthers took the lead in the third when Liam Wilson drove in two. Kitchener blew it open with four runs in the fifth, capped by Keegan Marsden’s two-run triple.

Simon Grinberg went 4-for-4 and scored three times for the Panthers (1-2). Andy Leader had three hits and an RBI, Tyler Hinrikus picked up two hits and scored once and Jeff Jarvis singled twice.

Christian Hauck (1-0) allowed an unearned run and struck out eight over seven innings. He also scattered four hits and walked four.

Jesse Fishbaum singled and scored for Brantford (0-4), which had five hits.

Bennett Moore (0-2) was pulled with two outs in the fifth. He was charged with six runs (three earned) on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
