Nivins homers twice in Panthers' win
BRANTFORD – Tanner Nivins homered twice and drove in six as the Kitchener Panthers beat the Brantford Red Sox 13-4 Friday night at Arnold Anderson Stadium.
Nivins also singled and scored three times as Kitchener moved to 8-2.
Brian Burton had three hits and three runs, Ryley Davenport went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and scored twice, Andy Leader drove in three, Keegan Marsden had an RBI and scored twice, and Yorbis Borroto doubled and scored twice.
Yoennis Yera (1-0) went six innings, giving up three runs on seven hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.
Jacob Reid had the Red Sox RBI. Chris Iltshishin singled twice. Nic Burdett and Anthony Rizquez both had a hit and scored.
Brady Cappe allowed seven runs (five earned) on eight hits over 4.2 innings. He walked three and struck out four.
Brantford dropped to 1-7.
