Newton, Gore lead Majors over Red Sox

LONDON – Jakob Newton drove in four, and Daniel Gore tossed five scoreless innings to lead the London Majors to a 12-0 win over Brantford Tuesday night at Labatt Park.


Newton singled three times and also scored twice as London (27-10) moved a half game up on Welland for first place.

 Starling Joseph drove in two, Robert Mullen went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs, Cleveland Brownlee and Byron Reichstein each had an RBI and Daniel Perrier scored twice.


Gore only gave up two hits and didn’t issue a walk as he moved to 3-2.


Evan Ryan doubled for the Red Sox (2-33).


Kendri Salvador (0-5) took the loss, allowing 10 runs (six earned) on eight hits with two walks and six strikeouts over six innings.
