Marra, Solazzo go deep in Leafs’ win

HAMILTON – Justin Marra and Johnathan Solazzo each went deep in the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 7-4 win Friday night in Hamilton.


Both home runs were solo blasts. Jose Vinicio drove in two and stole four bases atop the Leafs’ lineup. Aidan McAskie had two hits, two RBI and a run, Connor Lewis had two hits and a run, Dan Marra went 3-for-5 with a RBI and a run and Grant Tamane picked up a trio of hits.


Dylan Jacober (3-0) earned the win, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits over four innings. He walked three and struck out seven. Marek Deska started and didn’t register an out, leaving after allowing two hits and an unearned run. Chris Nagorski picked up the save.


Adrian Salcedo (1-3) took the loss, giving up six runs on 10 hits over four innings. He walked three and struck out six.

Offensively, Tristan Osika and Jeremie Veilleux each went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. Joshiah Devapalan picked up a pair of hits.


Toronto improved to 17-12, and Hamilton fell to 6-23.
