Majors win Game 3 slugfest

LONDON – Ty Mosher scored on an error in the seventh inning to give the London Majors a 10-9 win over Hamilton in Game 3 of their quarter-final Sunday afternoon at Labatt Park.

London leads the best-of-five series 2-1.

Tristan Osika and Eduardo De Oleo both had two hits in the victory. Byron Reichstein went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs, and Kaiden Cardoso drove in two on three hits. He also scored twice. Mosher, Starling Joseph and Victor Plaz all drove in a run.

Tyler Gillies (1-0) fanned five over 2.1 scoreless innings of relief to lock up the win, as London took the lead three times after falling behind. Skylar Janisse recorded the last two outs to secure the save. Braeden Ferrington started and went 2.1 innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits with a walk and five strikeouts.

For Hamilton, Dennis Dei Baning had two hits and four RBI, three of which came on a home run in the third inning. Stephen Whalen and Brendon Daley both had two hits and an RBI, Tyler Duncan and Tanner Rempel both singled twice. Duncan also stole a base. Rikelbin DeCastro had two hits and a run.

Chris Boatto allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits in 1.1 innings take the loss. He was the second reliever to enter the game after Toronto starter Corben Peters went three innings and allowed six runs (four earned) on five hits with a walk and three punchouts.
