Majors top Red Sox

LONDON – Byron Reichstein’s three-run home run in the second inning was the difference in London’s 5-2 win over Brantford on Saturday at Labatt Park.

Gibson Krzeminski and Champ Garner drove in the other runs as London (16-9) moved four games back of first-place Welland. Kaiden Cardoso went 2-for-3 with a run.

London starting pitcher Travis Keys (5-2) gave up an unearned run over five innings to earn the win. He scattered six hits, walked five and fanned five. Victor Payano struck out the side for his second save.

Jeremie Veilleux hit a solo home run for the Red Sox (8-17). Kieran Bowles had two hits and an RBI and Gus Wilson singled twice.

Gregor Farquharson (0-2) took the loss for Brantford, giving up five runs (four earned) on five hits over 5.2 innings. He walked six and struck out six.
