Majors top Cards

LONDON – London raced out to a seven-run lead through five innings and held on for an 8-5 win over Hamilton on Sunday at Labatt Park.

Tommy Reyes-Cruz and Brad Verhoeven each drove in two for the Majors (5-1). Starling Joseph went 3-for-5 with an RBI, Gibson Krzeminski drove in a run and Victor Plaz went 3-for-4 with three runs.

Travis Keys (2-0) finished six innings for the win. He yielded two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts.

Danny Berg went 4-for-5 with two runs for the Cardinals (3-2). Luis Bernardo, Dennis Dei Baning, Zach Marriott, Laine Renaud and Keelor Loveridge all drove in a run.

Owen Slater (0-1) took the loss after giving up a run on three hits over three innings. He walked two and fanned four.
