Majors take stranglehold on semifinal

LONDON – London took a stranglehold in its semifinal with Hamilton thanks to an 8-2 win Tuesday night at Labatt Park.

London leads the best-of-five series 2-0 with Game 3 Wednesday in Hamilton.


Taylor Wright doubled and drove in four Majors’ runs. Jakob Newton and Starling Joseph each went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run, Byron Reichstein and Daniel Perrier each had an RBI and Robert Mullen had two hits and scored twice.


Owen Boon (1-0) allowed an unearned run over seven innings for the win. He scattered three hits and walked two while fanning five.


Ryan Burnside (0-2) was charged with the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

Dennis Dei Baning had two of Hamilton’s seven hits and drove in a run.


Tyler Duncan went 2-for-3 and scored.
