Majors strike early in win

LONDON –  London raced out to an early lead and held on late for a 7-4 win over Toronto on Friday at Labatt Park.

Tristan Osika went 3-for-4 with two RBI for the Majors, who led 6-0 through the first two innings.

Kaiden Cardoso knocked in a pair of runs, and Eduardo De Oleo and Victor Plaz added an RBI apiece.

London hurler Travis Keys (3-0) threw seven innings in the win. He allowed a run on five hits with a walk and six strikeouts. The Majors improved to 8-3.

Jordan Castaldo and Justin Marra each drove in two for the Leafs (5-9), who scored once in the eighth inning and added two more in the ninth to make it close.

Marcus Knecht had an RBI, while Jose Vinicio and Dan Marra had two hits apiece.

Jesse Hodges was charged with the loss, giving up seven runs (six earned) on nine hits over five innings. He walked two and struck out six.
