Majors Sign Veteran Infielder Froese
LONDON - The London Majors, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) today announced the signing of veteran infielder Steve Froese for the 2019 season.
This will be the second tour of duty with the Majors for Froese, a St. Thomas native. Steve had three productive seasons with the Majors from 2010 to 2012, where he had 41 RBI and 7 stolen bases. Before joining the Majors Froese played at Urbana University where he also finished his Bachelors degree in business management. Steve will bring experience along with his good defensive play and quality hitting to the Majors team.
“I am looking forward to coaching Steve again," Roop Chanderdat, London Majors Co-Owner, GM and Field Manager said. “I had him earlier in his career and he has kept himself in good shape and will give us a boost both on the field and in the clubhouse.”
The London Majors are a member of Ontario's most elite baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
