Majors Sign American Shortstop

LONDON - The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of 28 year old American Shortstop Phil Thrappas. The switch hitting Thrappas hails from San Jose California. Phil is a two-sport star that played both football and baseball.  He played football as a strong safety for the University of California, Davis.

“I couldn’t be more excited to play for the London Majors, especially with the established track record of previous teams as well as the history associated with this city and ball club”, says Thrappas. Although it’s been a short stay in the city of London so far, everyone seems extremely kind and hospitable. Looking forward to the 2019 season with the Majors.”

“I am very excited to see what Phil can bring to our team”, says Roop Chanderdat, Co-owner, GM & Field Manager. “In an short-time here in London, Phil has shown that he can play very good defense and be a solid contributor offensively”.

The London Majors are a member of Ontario's most elite baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
