Majors set up showdown with Baycats

HAMILTON – London will face Barrie in the semifinal after eliminating Hamilton in four games.

The third-seed Majors ended Hamilton’s season with a 4-1 win Tuesday at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium. Eduardo De Oleo went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run. Cleveland Brownlee and Tristan Osika drove in the other runs. Victor Plaz and Ty Mosher had two hits apiece.

Victor Payano (2-0) struck out 13 over six innings to earn the win. He gave up a run on five hits and a walk. Daniel Gore finished the game for the three-inning save. He struck out three and only allowed two baserunners.

Stephen Whalen drove in Hamilton’s lone run. Luis Bernardo singled, doubled and stole a base, and Keelor Loveridge went 2-for-3.

Takaki Eguchi (0-2) gave up four runs (two earned) on seven hits over 4.2 innings to take the loss. He walked one and fanned four.
