Majors outlast Panthers
KITCHENER – London outlasted Kitchener in a 12-10 win Monday night at Jack Couch Park.
Starling Joseph went 4-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and four runs for the Majors (25-15), who trail second-place Barrie by a half game. Byron Reichstein drilled a three-run blast, Andrew Lawrence drove in three runs on three hits, Victor Plaz went 2-for-5 with an RBI, and Gibson Krzeminski and Eduardo De Oleo each drove in a run.
Jonathan Henry (3-3) picked up the win with two innings of relief. He allowed four runs on six hits with a walk and strikeout. Tyler Gillies struck out two in a scoreless ninth to earn his third save.
For Kitchener (13-28), Nolan Misa had four of his team’s 18 hits and drove in two. Liam McTague had two RBI, Jorden Carthy went 3-for-4 with an RBI, Spenser Ross and Nathan Laird both drove in a run, and Raul Gonzalez, Ryan Burnside and Yunior Ibarra had two hits and an RBI apiece.
Kitchener starting pitcher Pedro De Los Santos (4-5) was saddled with the loss after giving up eight runs on six hits in three innings. He walked five and struck out three.
