MAJORS BOUNCE RED SOX 18-4

BRANTFORD – The London Majors jumped out to a 6-0 first inning lead en route to downing the Brantford Red Sox 18-4 Saturday afternoon in Brantford. London, now 12-4, increased their lead over second place Kitchener to two games.

Adam Filmon led the Majors at the plate with four hits and three RBI’s while Austin Wilkie also had four hits and two RBI’s. Evan Britt added three hits and three RBI’s including a solo home run. Liam Sutherland had a two-run single for Brantford in the eighth inning.

Winning pitcher Owen Boon (5-1) took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before Gianfranco Morello singled with one out. Boon went seven innings, allowing only the one hit, one unearned run and five walks while striking out 12.

Brantford starter Adam Jafine (1-1) allowed 10 runs on 11 hits and two walks in 3 2/3 innings. He struck out five.
