Leafs win sixth straight

LONDON – The Toronto Maple Leafs won their sixth straight game, handing the London Majors a 17-10 loss Friday night at Labatt Park.

Grant Tamane went 2-for-4 with two runs, Justin Marra drove in two and scored twice, Marcus Knecht had two hits and scored three times, Jonathan Solazzo singled, homered and drove in four and scored three times, Zac Orchard singled twice and scored twice and added an RBI, Damon Topolie had two hits and two RBI, Cooper Lamb went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs, RJ Page drove in a pair of runs, and Greg Carrington had three hits, three runs and an RBI.
Adam Marra (1-0) threw 3.2 innings of relief, allowing two runs on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts.

Toronto improved to 16-20.

For London, Josh Williams had two hits, two RBI and two runs, Steve Froese drove in a run and scored, Myles Miller went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs, Carlos Arteaga drove in two and scored, and Yuki Yasuda had an RBI and a run.

Braeden Ferrington (0-1) gave up four runs (two earned) on three hits with a strikeout in 1.1 innings.

Starter Juliandry Higuera went two scoreless innings, scattering two hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

London dropped to 17-18.
