Leafs win fourth straight
KITCHENER – Toronto moved closer to sixth place with a 10-1 win Thursday in Kitchener.
Johnathan Solazzo went 3-for-5 with his 11th home run and three RBI for the Leafs (17-23), who trail sixth-place Hamilton by a game. Justin Marra and Connor Lewis each had two hits and an RBI for Toronto, which has won four straight. Jose Vinicio added a two-run double, Ryan Dos Santos singled twice and drove in a run, and Charlie Towers had a sacrifice fly.
Wilgenis Alvarado improved to 1-5 after giving up a run on five hits over six innings. He walked one and fanned four.
Spencer Voisin drove in the lone run for Kitchener (13-27), which leads ninth-place Brantford by two games. Nolan Misa had two of the Panthers’ six hits.
Danny Garcia (1-2) took the loss, yielding nine runs on 10 hits in 3.1 innings. He walked two and struck out three.
