Leafs spread offence against Cards

HAMILTON – Eight different Toronto players drove in at least one run as the Maple Leafs beat Hamilton 13-2 Friday night at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium.


Connor Lewis went 4-for-6 with two RBI and two runs for the Leafs 22-15). Damon Topolie and Grant Tamane each had two hits and two RBI and Greg Carrington drove in two with a double and fielder’s choice.


Jose Vinicio, Justin Marra, Johnathan Solazzo and Marcus Knecht all drove in a run and combined to score six times. Dan Marra didn’t have an RBI but scored three runs.


Dylan Jacober (5-0) threw four innings of relief to earn the win. He gave up one run on two hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Marek Deska started and went three scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk while striking out six.


Adrian Salcedo (1-5) took the loss, allowing four runs on four hits over two innings. He walked three and didn’t record a strikeout.


At the plate, Tyler Duncan and Ryan Burnside each drove in a run for the Cardinals (10-27), who had their four-game win streak snapped.
