Leafs' late rally sinks Red Sox

BRANTFORD – One run in both the eighth and ninth innings gave the Toronto Maple Leafs a 2-1 win over the Brantford Red Sox Friday night at Arnold Anderson Stadium.
The loss was Brantford's 15th straight after a season-opening win.
Zac Orchard had the Leafs' lone RBI, singling in a run to give Toronto the lead in the top of the eighth. After Brantford's Gianfranco Morella drove in Matt McGovern in the bottom half of the inning, Toronto's Ryan Santos scored the winning run on a passed ball in the ninth.
Morello and Chris Iltshishin both had a pair of hits for the Red Sox.
On the mound, Toronto starter Justin Cicatello scattered five hits over seven shutout innings while striking out 10. Marek Deska (2-1) picked up the win with a scoreless 10th. He struck out two.
Edison Frias started for Brantford and threw eight innings of six-hit ball. He allowed a run, walked two and struck out 12. Victor Mueses (0-4) gave up a run with two walks and a strikeout to take the loss.
