Leafs handle Barnstormers

CHATHAM – Toronto made the most of 10 hits and six Chatham errors in an 8-1 win over the Barnstormers at Fergie Jenkins Field.  

Jordan Castaldo hit a two-run blast for the Leafs (17-23), who are seventh. Spenser Ross and Benjamin Sitarenios each had two hits and an RBI, Dan Marra drove in two, Ryan Dos Santos had an RBI, and Jhon Javier had two hits and scored.  

Wilgenis Alvarado (3-2) gave up a run on five hits in 5.1 innings. He walked three and struck out seven.  

Even Morrison drove the lone run for Chatham-Kent (22-18). Yushin Ohta singled twice. Aden Ryan (3-5) went four innings in the loss. He gave up three runs on six hits with three walks and five punchouts.
