Leafs beat Majors in extras

LONDON – Toronto scored four times in the top of the 10th inning and handed London an 8-4 loss on Friday at Labatt Park 

Jhon Javier, Marcus Knecht and Rando Moreno drove in runs to put the Leafs ahead for good. Javier finished the game 3-for-5 with two RBI, Moreno drove in two on a pair of hits, Jordan Castaldo went 3-for-4 with an RBI, Knecht had three hits and scored twice, Ryan Dos Santos picked up a pair of hits and scored three times, and Dan Marra added an RBI.  

Sebastian Rodriguez allowed an unearned run on three hits in 2.2 innings of relief for the win. He walked one and struck out two. Wilgenis Alvarado started on the mound and went five innings, yielding three runs on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts.  

Toby Simmons, Champ Garner, Dre Amaral and Ken Sugi all drove in a run for London. 

Jonathan Henry took the loss in relief, giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits in 1.2 innings. He walked one and struck out one. Majors’ starter Travis Keys allowed two unearned runs on eight hits in five innings. He struck out one and didn’t issue a walk. 

Toronto improved to 3-3, and London fell to 5-2.
