Kush pitches Guelph past Cards

HAMILTON – Jacob Kush tossed eight innings of one-run ball to lead Guelph to an 8-1 win Sunday in Hamilton.

Kush (4-1) scattered four hits and struck out five.

At the plate, Brando Leroux, Garrett Takamatsu and Josh Garton all drove in a pair of runs. Leroux also swiped two bases. J.D. Williams went 3-for-6 with an RBI, Evan Ashe drove in a run, and Frankin Torres went 4-for-4 and scored three times.

Guelph improved to 15-10.

Dennis Dei Baning had the lone RBI for Hamilton (12-16). Home run derby champ Tyler Duncan singled, doubled and scored.

Casey Bouillere-Howard (0-2) lasted four innings and gave up four runs on eight hits with a walk and three strikeouts.
