Knecht leads Leafs' offensive onslaught against Panthers

TORONTO -- Marcus Knecht hit two of Toronto's five home runs and drove in eight in Wednesday night's 20-3 win over Kitchener at Christie Pits. 

Knecht added three singles for a five-hit game and scored four times. Garret Takamatsu went 3-for-6 with a home run, three RBI and four runs, Jordan Castaldo homered, doubled and drove in two while scoring three times, Chandler McLaren went deep for the first time this season and drove in three, Connor Lewis had two hits, two RBI and a run, Johnathan Solazzo drove in a run and scored four times, and Sean Reilly went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run. Reilly now has 997 career hits as he moves closer to becoming the first player in IBL history to reach 1,000. 

Zach Sloan (2-1) picked up the win, scattering three hits and striking out three over three shutout innings of relief. Leafs starter Kyle Perrett allowed three runs on four hits over three innings, striking out one. 

For Kitchener, Ryley Davenport drove in two, while Andy Leader went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. 

Adam Robinson (1-3) took the loss, allowing five runs (three earned) on four hits and four walks in three innings. 

Both the Leafs and Panthers are tied for second in the IBL with 12-11 records.
