Jarvis leads Panthers past Leafs
TORONTO – Jett Jervis did a little bit of everything on Wednesday night in Toronto.
Kitchener’s right-fielder sparked a five-run second inning with a bases-clearing double that put the Panthers ahead of the Leafs for good in a 10-2 win. After being hit by a pitch the next inning, Jarvis stole his ninth base of the season. He walked in the fifth and added a single in the seventh.
Blake Jacklin went 3-for-5 and drove in a run atop the Panthers’ lineup. Tyler Hinrikus singled twice and had an RBI, Raul Gonzalez drove in two, Spenser Ross had two RBI, four runs and his first stolen base of 2024, and Yunior Ibarra singled twice.
On the mound, Pedro De Los Santos (2-3) gave up two unearned runs over six innings. He scattered four hits, walked three and fanned five.
Jose Vinicio and Ryan Dos Santos each had an RBI for Toronto (7-16). Connor Lewis and Dan Marra had two hits apiece.
Wilgenis Alvarado (0-5) was pulled with one out in the fifth and was charged with nine runs on nine hits. He walked six and struck out four.
