Jackfish snaps slump

BRANTFORD – Welland snapped a three-game losing skid with a 10-2 win Friday night in Brantford.  

Matteo Porcellato went 4-for-5 with two RBI for the Jackfish (23-9). Robert Mullen drove in three on a pair of hits, Greyson Barrett went 3-for-4 with an RBI, Brandon Hupe, Ryan Potrecz had an RBI apiece, Jonah Weisner and Brendan Luther both drove in a run and scored twice, while Pier-Olivier Boucher and Thomas Green each had two hits.  

Welland starting pitcher Halen Knoll (3-0) fanned 10 over six innings to earn the win. He allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks.  

For Brantford (6-24), Cassidy Watt and Christian Ortega each drove in a run. Lucas Lefebvre doubled and scored.  

Pedro De Los Santos (2-4) took the loss. Only three of seven runs he allowed over six innings were earned. He gave up 13 hits, walked two and struck out seven.
