Jackfish Sign Two Pitchers

WELLAND – The Welland Jackfish, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) today announced the signing of left-hander Rich Corrente and right-hander Casey Bouillere-Howard for the 2019 season.

Corrente, 27, in his fifth season of IBL play, Rich recorded a 6.21 ERA last season with the Burlington Herd, striking out 21 white walking 17. Rich was named to the 2017 Intercounty Baseball League Second Team All-Star squad.

Boatto, 24, returns to the IBL after spending the 2018 season with the Burlington Herd. In 54.2 innings pitched, Chris recorded a 5.43 ERA with 41 strikeouts, sixteen walks and a 1-4 record. The former London Major also suited up for Alderson Broaddus University (NCAA DII) where he was a three-year starter for the Battlers leading them to the G-MAC conference title in 2016.

“Rich and Casey were two pitchers we depended on a great deal last season” said Jackfish General Manager Jason McKay.

“Both throw strikes, keep the ball down and provide the versatility to either start them, bring them in for long relief as well as situationally.  Consummate competitors they are the returning the core of an experienced staff.”
